FIG 256 256 Pipe Alignment Guide

To keep piping aligned during its axial expansion and contraction, typically two or more pipe alignment guides are used on a single piping run to prevent a pivoting effect. It's advised to place the first guide no more than four pipe diameters from an expansion joint, and the second guide no more than 18 pipe diameters away. Additional guides should be used as per the guide spacing data in the submittal. Supports are usually needed between intermediate guides to comply with standard support practice.

• Secure outer housing to structure via bolting or welding
• Open housing by swinging upper section
• Attach spider clamp to pipe, fully insulate
• Position pipe and spider clamp within outer housing
• Close and secure housing
• Install based on pipe size and insulation thickness, following submittal table
