In the annuls of the time now nearly 4 decades ago. The Bulldog Orel vs. the Wonderkid Doc Gooden. The Mets were 11-1 that year on season series. I was at 2 of these games in LA when I was in post-grad school. Up until last year was the last time the Dodgers made it to the dance via Kirk Gibson under Tommy Lasorda and then batboy Mitchell Poole. I knew Mitch when he worked at Kinko's in Glendale.
