YPA EM5L Electret Microphone Preamp Adapter for Lectrosonics TA5F mic to XLR

The YPA EM5L is a male TA5M mini-xlr to male XLR3M adapter for connecting Lavalier or Headset condenser microphones with a TA5F output to devices with an XLR input. It utilizes an internal pcb to convert an unbalanced signal to a balanced signal, making it ideal for connecting a microphone with an unbalanced output to PA, Recorder, Camera, mixer or interface. Premium componentry ensures extremely low impedance and low noise when a long cable run is necessary. Allowing microphones such as the Lapel Mic and Head worn Mic to receive power from XLR devices and it features a locking connector that will ensure your connection is always secure when recording. This converter will operate with any mic that has a TA5 connector wired for Lectrosonics transmitters. It dose not provide power, that this converter is powered by 48 volt phantom power from the XLR side (mic input to mixer or recorder). The converter provides power of about 2 to 4 volts to the lav mic just like the Lectro transmitter normally does. If you are looking for a hard wired lav mic and had hoped that somehow You could use your existing COS 11 mics which are wired for Lectro transmitters. I recommend this device. Now when hard wired is a better option You can just plug your lav onto this device and am ready to go. No need for separate mic with its own power supply. Note: needs +48v power. • To connect a Lectrosonics TA5F microphone to an XLR input, you need a special adapter that converts the TA5F connector (used on Lectrosonics wireless transmitters) to a standard 3-pin XLR male connector
